In terms of composition, diesel generator sets are mainly composed of two parts: mechanical links and electrical links. Among them, the mechanical link mainly includes the diesel engine and the speed regulation system, and the electrical link mainly includes two parts: the synchronous generator and the load-based electrical link.
The use of diesel generator sets at different temperatures
In places with high ambient temperature and high air humidity, it will be difficult to dissipate heat from the motors and electrical appliances of the diesel generator set, resulting in increased internal temperature rise and accelerated aging of insulating materials. The performance deteriorates, which reduces the service life of motors and appliances.
In addition, it also brings some adverse effects on other parts of the unit, such as the high water and oil temperature of the diesel generator set, and the serious corrosion of metal structural parts. Therefore, for units used in high temperature and high humidity places, in addition to taking the necessary anti-corrosion measures for metal structural parts and paints according to the "wet tropical type" (usually indicated by TH in the special environment of the product), special anti-corrosion measures should also be taken. Pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation, and to strengthen the inspection of insulation resistance.
Because most of the diesel generator sets work off-grid, compared with the grid power supply system, its capacity is small. When there are a large number of reactive loads and electronic devices in the load that need to consume reactive power to establish a magnetic field, it is bound to generate a magnetic field from the grid. The generator side absorbs more reactive power, which will reduce the power factor and seriously affect the power quality of the diesel generator set.
In a low temperature environment, especially when the temperature is lower than -20℃, the fuel oil and lubricating oil of the unit become thicker, the viscosity increases, the cooling water freezes, and the capacity of the general battery decreases, which makes it difficult to start and work. Structural materials also become hard and brittle, reducing service life. Therefore, in the winter studio, necessary antifreeze, preheating, and heat preservation measures must be taken.
